How we make it
Business cards are imposed many to a sheet, so paper is rarely what drives the price: the finish is. A thousand cards fit on roughly six sheets, and what you pay for beyond that is the plate, the makeready and the trimming. Coated 300 gsm is the standard and takes lamination well. Opaline 250 gsm has a more natural, matte feel. Matte lamination looks understated and stands up to the rubbing a card gets in a wallet; gloss saturates the colours more. Spot UV is applied only over specific areas, usually the logo, and it is what makes a card noticeable to the touch without changing paper.
