How we make it

Envelopes can be printed two ways, and they do not cost the same. On the finished envelope, which is fast and normal for short runs. Or printed flat, then die-cut and glued, which works out better when the design runs to the edge or when the quantity is large. Bond 90 gsm is standard for correspondence; kraft is used when the envelope needs to carry weight, or when unbleached paper suits the brand. The most common request is an envelope matching the letterhead, printing the same design in one colour. Ordered together, both jobs share the same makeready.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order envelopes to match my letterhead?
Yes, and it is the most common request. Ordering both together makes better use of the press and costs less than ordering them separately weeks apart.
What envelope size do I need?
It depends what goes inside. For a letter-size sheet folded in three, a letter envelope. To send it unfolded, legal size. For multi-page documents, a manila envelope handles the extra thickness.
Can they be printed in full colour?
Yes, though on a finished envelope there are areas the press cannot reach cleanly, particularly the flaps. If the design bleeds to the edge, it is better to print flat and convert afterwards.
