How we make it
Die-cutting means cutting paper to a shape that is not a rectangle, and also creasing the folds a piece will bend along. It uses a wooden tool fitted with blades, made to measure for that job. That tool is the economic key to anything involving a die: it costs the same for two hundred pieces as for twenty thousand, so on short runs it weighs heavily per unit and on long runs it almost disappears. It is what makes a folder with flaps, a box, a shaped label or a cut-out possible. If the tool already exists from a previous order and the shape has not changed, the next job comes out considerably cheaper.
