Lamination
It protects the print and changes how it feels. Matt looks restrained, gloss lifts the colour, and soft touch is noticeable the moment you pick it up.

How we make it
Lamination is a thin film applied with heat over already-printed paper. It does two things, and one matters more than the other: it protects against rubbing and damp, and incidentally it changes the appearance. Matte gives a non-reflective, restrained result, hides fingerprints and shows less dirt; gloss saturates colours and lifts photographs. It is applied to heavier stocks, covers and board, not to interior text paper. Two things to bear in mind: you cannot write on a laminated surface with a pen or print over it, and pieces that fold should be scored first, because the film can crack along the crease.
