How we make it

Flyers are the job where quantity matters more than anything else. A large sheet yields sixteen letter-size flyers, so a thousand flyers is about sixty-three sheets: almost nothing in paper compared to what it costs to get the press running. That is why ordering five thousand instead of one thousand does not multiply the price by five, nowhere near. If the flyer is handed out in the street, bond 75 gsm is enough and cheaper. For a counter or a letterbox, coated 115 gsm holds up better and looks more serious. Single colour makes makeready cheaper, but in advertising colour usually earns back the difference. The three working day lead time runs from approved artwork.

Frequently asked questions

How many flyers should I order?
The more you order, the cheaper each one gets, and the difference is large. Going from one thousand to five thousand does not multiply the price by five, because the plate and makeready are already paid for.
Single colour or full colour?
Single colour makes makeready cheaper because it uses one plate instead of four. But in advertising colour usually pays for itself, and on long runs the per-unit difference is small.
Which paper survives street handouts best?
Bond 75 gsm is enough for handouts and is the most economical. If the flyer will sit on a counter or in a letterbox, coated 115 gsm handles the wear better.
