How we make it

A poster is read from a distance, and that shapes the design more than the printing: what reads at three metres is the headline, not the body text. The usual sizes come from the press sheet, laid out so nothing is wasted. It prints on heavier coated stock, 150 to 200 gsm, so it hangs without curling. The minimum of one hundred is low compared with other advertising work because few posters fit on a sheet and paper weighs more heavily in the cost. If the poster will be outdoors or in a window in direct sun, either laminate it or accept that the ink will degrade within weeks.

Frequently asked questions

What poster size should I choose?
Whichever uses the press sheet most efficiently, so you do not pay for paper that goes in the bin. When asking for a quote, trimming the size by a few centimetres can save a fair amount.
Will it survive outdoors?
An unprotected coated poster degrades in sun and damp. If it is going outside it has to be laminated, and even then paper has limits: genuine outdoor use calls for other materials.
Is one hundred posters a high minimum?
It is one of the lowest minimums in the catalogue. Few posters fit on a sheet, so paper carries more of the cost and the plate is absorbed sooner.
