How we make it

Electoral material is governed by the tender and by the specifications of the convening body, not by anything the printer decides. Quantities, dimensions, paper, colours and deadlines are all fixed, and the deadline is usually tight because the election date does not move. Two requirements appear here that no other job has. The first is traceability: control of how many pieces are printed, how many delivered, and what happens to the spoilage, which with sensitive material is not simply discarded. The second is absolute punctuality, because a delay cannot be offset with a discount. So this job is organised the other way round: you start from the delivery date and count backwards.

Whatever the tender sets. With electoral material the date governs everything else, so it is planned by counting backwards from delivery.
